What size TV do I actually need?
The most common question we get — and it's almost entirely about how far you sit. Set your seating distance and watch the recommendation update, with the viewing angle drawn to scale.

How this works
Picture quality experts size screens by viewing angle — how much of your field of view the screen fills — not by a fixed "inches per foot" rule. SMPTE recommends at least 30°; THX references 36–40° for a cinematic feel. We solve for the diagonal that hits your chosen angle at your distance.
The old worry about sitting "too close" came from low-resolution TVs. With 4K you can sit much closer before individual pixels become visible — that's the closest 4K seat figure above. In most homes that means you can comfortably go a size or two larger than you'd expect.
